The STEM PBS committee is a team that works directly with students and staff to promote positive behaviors for the success of our students. This is accomplished by focusing on specific behaviors, rewarding achievement, and celebrating student effort both weekly and monthly.
The real work takes place in the class room when a TEACHER "catches" a student demonstrating SAFE, THOUGHTFUL, EXCELLENT and MOTIVATED behaviors. This POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT tool can be used to help the teacher explain and encourage the student to repeat the desired behaviors. The STEM Buck can also be used to encourage students to improve their behavior when ever they make an attempt to do the right thing.
After students earn a STEM Buck, they can "cash" them in at the STEM Buck STORE which is open on Wednesdays during Periods 4 & 6. This reward system will hopefully reinforce positive behaviors.
Lastly, each month, the STEM PBS Team will host exciting school-wide events to celebrate those students who are consistently doing the right thing. The events will have a different theme/behavior qualification and in order for students to participate they must be nominated by their teachers!
Teachers: we would love your help in promoting PBS in your classroom. Share this site with your students. Get them excited about future events and hand out STEM bucks to exceptional students who are demonstrating our STEM Behaviors! If you would like to help us in the creative process please email us.
